Mobiwan: Ways To Listen Without The Aid Of Ears

A London-based startup named \’Mobilus Labs\’ has recently brought a new wearable device to the market. This wearable device is the world\’s first \’two-way bone conduction voice technology headband\’.

By hearing it is understood that the sound is transmitted through the bone in this device.

However, it was in the 15th century that hearing aids or \’hearing aids\’ were made using the technology of sound transmission through bones.

At that time, an Italian doctor named Girolamo Cardano conducted experiments on it. He noticed that if a rod was placed between a person\’s teeth and the other end of the rod was connected to a musical instrument, the person could hear sounds even if he had no hearing. The legendary composer Beethoven, when he was losing his hearing towards the end of his life, used this method to listen to sounds.

In the 1820s, the French physician Jean-Marc Gaspard Itard further improved this device. He connects the other end of the rod to another person\’s face without connecting it to any musical instrument. This invention of his is known as \’Rod of Itard\’.

How Mobiwan works.

Recently, \’Mobilus Labs\’ developed a wireless device using this same technology, called \’mobiWAN\’. With the help of this device, workers can talk to each other even in noisy places where it is not possible to talk by phone or radio.

Workers in various industries have difficulty communicating in loud noise. That is, the device will be very useful for people on a construction site or on a ship during a severe storm.

In essence, the \’MobiOne\’ device will help with communication while working in noisy environments. And the entire technology will work by streaming sound through the user\’s head.

The headset speaker and microphone developed by Mobilus Labs will work by using \’bone conduction\’ technology, or the flow of sound waves through bone. When the \’Mobiwan\’ headband is worn on the head, the sound will be transmitted through vibrations in the skull.

This flagship product of \’Mobilus Labs\’ can be used in conjunction with safety helmets. This reduces the need for hand-held walkie-talkies. Its \’Ear Free\’ and \’Hands Free\’ technologies are designed to enable safe and clear speech even in hostile and dangerous environments. “Ear-free” design means it has nothing to do with the ears. As a result, this device can be easily used with safety helmets and hearing aids. And it does not pose any health and safety risks.

Like holding the device to talk on a walkie talkie, there is no such hassle with \’Mobiwan\’. As there is no need to use hands, users can do all their other tasks without any problem.

New generation walkie talkie.

So \’Mobiwan\’ is now called a new generation walkie talkie. It can make voice communication by creating tiny vibrations inside our cochlea. Having this technology means you don\’t need to use headphones.

Using this two-way bone conduction communication technology, MobiOne is able to facilitate hands-free listening even in the noisiest of environments. And because of better communication, employees can work more efficiently. Moreover, the work that had to be done repeatedly before is no longer necessary. Safety issues can also be ensured as well.

When the \’MobiOne\’ headset hit the market in October 2021, the annual customer license fee for hardware and software was set at $490. However, before coming to the market, the company has tested this product on British Army and UK National Health Service employees.

The company is promoting its voice communication platform internationally. They are promoting this product especially in the fuel, construction, chemical and manufacturing industries in the US and Europe.

experimental use.

This device can be used all day if charged for 8 hours. Besides, it can be fast charged in 3 hours by using \’USB C\’ charger.

It has the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology, which makes it easy to use with other Mobilus devices or smartphones or tablets.

Chevron is a major company in the energy industry in the international arena. The company has started testing the \’MobiOne\’ device. Barbara Berger, president of Chevron\’s technology venture division and vice president of innovation, said, “Being able to communicate clearly in a risky environment is critical.

We have been experimenting with the potential of the Mobilus device to ensure worker safety, especially in noisy factories. The latest investment [behind \’MobiOne\’] from our \’Core Energy Fund\’, and we are very optimistic about that. [Investments from this fund] are now targeting technologies that can further enhance our conventional oil and gas business operations.”

An investment company named Vinci has invested in Mobilus Labs. Selale Jaime Gorton, head of the firm\’s investment committee, said: “Mobilas has a unique and multi-dimensional technology. With the help of this, the front line workers will get the benefit of the modern communication system of the 21st century. With this excellent bone conduction technology, features like \’voice to text\’ and \’voice assistant\’ can be used even in noisy environments. In this way, Mobilus can digitize the communication system of various industries in the near future.”

The founder of Mobilus Labs is Jordan McRae. A group of engineers and designers worked with him to create the \’Mobiwan\’ product from his company, who were very interested in finding new ways to communicate through words in hostile environments.

One of Mobilas\’ major advantages was that they were able to leverage the experience of some of the world\’s most innovative companies and organizations. These include MIT, Imperial College, Lockheed Martin, Samsung, LG, Vonage and NASA.

The company has now started their trial at one of Chevron\’s factories. With this, Mobilus started working in the oil and gas industry for the first time. Meanwhile, Time magazine recognized \’Mobiwan\’ among the top 100 innovations of 2021.
